Week in Review
Wreaths Across America

This Saturday, I joined the Wreaths Across America ceremony in Scottsdale. This event invites individuals to lay a wreath upon a Veteran's grave site honoring their sacrifice and heroism while protecting these United States. It was a very beautiful ceremony to honor our veterans, may God bless each of them and their families this holiday season.
Health IT Now

Thank you to Health IT Now for selecting me as a recipient of the 2018 Health IT Pioneer Award. I look forward to continuing to advocate for innovation and interoperability in healthcare in the 116th congress!

Social Security Administration Advisory
This week, our office received awareness of telephone impersonation schemes that are exploiting the Social Security Administration's (SSA) reputation and authority.

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has received reports from across the country in relation to these fraudulent phone calls from people who are claiming to work for the SSA. This is a scam and it is advised that you should not engage with these calls or provide any personal information.

See the full advisory at the OIG website
Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Conference

Thank you to the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce for inviting me to speak at your annual conference. The Chamber has done a great job working to keep the Taiwanese and United States relationship strong. It was an honor to be invited to speak at such a great event.
 Meeting Ambassador Abraham Chu

Prior to the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Conference, I had the pleasure of sitting down for a meeting with Ambassador Abraham Chu, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office. We had great conversation and I look forward to continuing a friendship with him.
Chart of the Week

The Joint Economic Committee prepared a chart detailing the creation of jobs and the unemployment rate in November 2018. These numbers show the economy is on the right path to stay strong and jobs are continuing to be created.
