Seventeen years ago today, our nation suffered from a terrorist attack that will never be forgotten. The United States remembers the thousands of lives lost and the sacrifices of first responders on this day 17 years ago. Today, we reflect on our strength as a nation, and honor the lives of those we lost during 9/11.
Above is a photo from the Flight 93 Memorial in the United States Capitol. This memorial remembers all of the Americans on Flight 93 headed toward the Capitol building on September 11, 2001. Their courage and sacrifice involved in diverting the plan to a field in Pennsylvania saved thousands of lives of those in Washington, D.C. that day. We honor them today, and every day through this memorial.
